The Response of Three Barley Cultivars to Cumin Extract at Different Soaking Times and the Identification of the Active Compounds Using GCMS

Abstract The research was carried out at the Agricultural Technical College / Mosul, to study effect of cumin extract on barley culture with three factors, first is (comparator and extract), second duration soaking (6 12) hours, third varieties (local, rayhan, zanbaqa), using design (CRD) replicates. At end research, data were recorded analyzed according SAS program, different averages distinguished by alphabets, results were: Cumin significantly superior control treatment in all studied traits, except for number roots. (12) hours (6) wet dry weight seedling. zanbaqa cultivar outperformed local rayhan cultivars traits. interaction between achieved significant superiority seedling weight, root length vegetative length. period variety caused a extract, rest interactions length.. active compounds separated from aqueous diagnosed GCMS it found that there are 9 compounds, 2 which phenolic 7 fatty acids.
